Sam Adams

Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Sam grew up in the Northern Beaches of Sydney, in sunny Newport, before his family moved to the green pastures of Bellingen when he was 14. After completing his HSC in Coffs Harbour, he moved to Armidale to follow his passion for sport, health, and science and completed his Exercise Physiology studies at the University of New England. During his studies, Sam embarked on practical placements with the Newcastle Knights and rural health clinics throughout the New England and Hunter Valley regions, where he learned strength and conditioning at elite levels and patient care for metabolic, musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.

Sam returned to the Coffs Coast after graduating and immediately commenced a pool and gym-based role, delivering musculoskeletal rehabilitation, chronic disease management and strength and conditioning services to the area. Sam has completed further training in shoulder, hip and spinal treatment, functional mobility, and body re-composition training.

Outside of work, Sam enjoys reading, eating, hiking, soccer and his own personal strength and fitness journey.

What is one thing on your bucket list? To spend a night under the Northern Lights of Norway and go winter sledding with sled dogs.

What do you enjoy the most about being an EP? Getting paid to help people recover from injury and achieve performance goals, whilst researching health and fitness-based science can feel like a dream. I’m incredibly lucky to make a living doing what I love.

If you won the lotto, what would be the first thing you would do? Find a way to make my job mobile and travel as much as possible while doing it.

Which famous person would you like to be best friends with? Why? I imagine spending time with David Attenborough would be fascinating, hopefully he’d take me to some exciting places and I could bask in his natural science glow.

What was your first job? When I was 10 I used to ride in the local milk delivery truck and deliver crates of milk to shops and houses, pretty exciting stuff for a 10 year old.
