Leia Foster
Occupational Therapist
Leia graduated from Southern Cross University, Coffs Harbour Campus, with a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy in 2025. She gained experience in palliative care, oncology, post-acute community, and aged care settings through her placements, and worked for 5 years in casual roles as a support worker in disability support and aged care across community and residential settings during her studies.
Leia completed a volunteer placement at Camp Jabiru and the Sensory Gym in 2023, gaining insight into nature-based occupational therapy for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder, and disorders in sensory processing.
She is currently working with caseloads in the NDIS and aged care space, conducting functional capacity assessments, minor home modification assessments, and assistive technology assessments. Leia enjoys reading a good book, spending her days at the beach, going for long walks, or heading to the gym.
Born and raised in the Coffs Harbour region, Leia completed her secondary and tertiary education locally.
What sports did you participate in growing up?
I participated in several years of dancing, including eisteddfod performances, and enjoyed swim squad on weekends.

On Sunday mornings, you can usually find me whipping up a smoothie and heading to the beach or chasing waterfalls and hanging with friends.
What are people always surprised to discover about you?
I was born with bilateral hearing loss and wear hearing aids and my name was in fact inspired from Star Wars.
