David Goodwin

David graduated from the University of Sydney in 1995.  Upon moving to Coffs Harbour in 2014, David began working at Hoys Physiotherapy.

Originally commencing his working career in Sydney, David moved to Newcastle, where he owned and operated his own physiotherapy practice.  He then went onto be the Head Physiotherapist for the Newcastle United Jets. From there David moved to Brisbane to continue his work with football teams. He subsequent went onto work in private practice, mentoring a team of young physiotherapists.

David has a passion for football - having played, coached, refereed, and provided medical coverage at all levels and abilities. In more recent times, David has returned to one of his other passions and is often out going for a run or organising parkrun.

Professionally, David is involved in the local medical community. He is involved in various local medical advisory groups and has previously been involved as a committee member of Sports Medicine Australia (Hunter) and Australian Physiotherapy Association (Hunter). He has mentored and continues to mentor young physiotherapists and students as they take up roles in the profession. David has a passion for knowledge and is always keen to provide education events and training to allied health professionals in the region.

David has worked extensively with many sporting teams and organisations. Most recently he has been involved with the Touch Football Australia, having provided physiotherapy services at the World Cup in Malaysia. Over the years, David has also provided physiotherapy coverage for Manly-Warringah Rugby League, various local football clubs in Newcastle, Newcastle United Jets, Brisbane Roar and various sporting groups in Coffs Harbour region.

David enjoys treating all injuries with a particular passion for lower limb biomechanics and injuries.  His skills include acupuncture, muscle energy, taping, mulligans concepts, and advanced Bounce Back Core stability class instructor.
