Amanda D'Souza
Physiotherapist
Kia ora! I recently joined the Allied Health team at Hoy’s as a Graduate Physiotherapist. I completed my Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Auckland University of Technology in my beautiful home of Aotearoa, New Zealand.
My final clinical placement was in Townsville, Queensland, where I completed an exchange with James Cook University. After finishing my studies, I spent four months solo travelling along the East Coast of Australia while waiting for my graduation ceremony and physiotherapy registration. During this time, I lived and worked at a surf camp on the Mid North Coast, which helped me get to know the local area. When the opportunity arose to join Hoy’s, I jumped at the chance to make the move across the ditch.
I’ve always loved staying active and have played a few niche sports, including dragon boating, curling, and acroyoga. It's safe to say, I don't mind challenging myself and trying new things. On the weekend you'd find me spending time outdoors, especially the ocean - although I’m still getting used to the Aussie wildlife!
My real passion lies in building strong connections with patients and supporting them to feel empowered and confident as they work towards their goals. I’m grateful to be part of such an experienced and supportive team while I continue to learn and grow as a physiotherapist. I also have a developing interest in paediatric physiotherapy and pelvic health.
