Gemma Evans

Gemma graduated from York St John University in York, UK in 2009 with an Honours Degree in Occupational Therapy (OT), working in the UK assisting clients with long-term conditions, both mental and physical health, to remain independent within their home, community and work environments.

In 2012 Gemma moved to Coffs Harbour with her family to continue her career, and is passionate about working within a team of high quality allied health practitioners, which services the local communities around the Coffs Coast.

Gemma’s previous work experiences in the corporate sector in occupational rehabilitation, OH&S, training and service development provides a base for ensuring the quality of service and reporting within the NDIS.

Gemma is a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) registered Occupational Therapist and is able to complete most major areas of NDIS work, for both adolescents, adults and the elderly. These National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) assessments include, functional assessments, wheelchair assessments, home modifications and assistive technology.
Gemma aspires to make rehabilitation for people from all walks of life as her field of expertise. Her skill set and knowledge are continually expanding through workshops, conferences and further education.

The occupational therapy services she provides, both within and outside of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), is always changing and adapting as she incorporates the latest research in rehabilitation and keeps abreast of new innovations in assistive equipment.

Gemma’s OT practice is client directed and entails close collaboration with clients and their families, friends and carers as directed by the client.

Gemma is looking forward to working closely with members of the Coffs Harbour community to assist in supporting individuals to maintain and increase their independence within their home and community.

Outside of work Gemma can be found spending time with family and friends, exploring the coast and hinterland, and repeatedly throwing balls for her crazy dogs!
