Did you know that one in three injuries to Australian workers can be attributed to poor manual handling? Manual Handling Training Reducing Workplace Injuries. Inexperienced workers are at the greatest risk according to a study conducted by Vic Health.
Manual Handling injuries are not limited to those sustained by lifting or carrying heavy loads. A person can be injured when handling objects in a variety of ways including pulling, pushing, holding or restraining. The object can be anything from an animal to a piece of equipment.
As you are aware, employers are required to provide safe systems to prevent or minimise manual handling risks in each workplace. This is where NRM can assist. Our sessions cover;
· Introduction to manual handling
· Workplace Health and Safety legislation and manual handling risk management
· Factors that influence manual handling
· Current manual handling principles, techniques and postures
· Stretching exercises and other injury prevention strategies
· Further practical exercise & General group discussion
Don’t forget these education sessions can also be undertaken at the workplace or in a group upon discussion of needs/costs.
In addition to our Manual Handling Classes, we are also offering Group Office Ergonomic Training Sessions at your workplace, which include a 10 minute assessment of individual workstations.
